But on Friday, an FDA spokesman said, “No one substance, including Vitamin E acetate, has been identified in all of the samples tested” by the agency. New York state health officials on Thursday pointed to vitamin E acetate, an unauthorized additive in some marijuana vape pods, as a focus of their investigation. The FDA is now testing more than 100 product samples used by patients who developed lung diseases after vaping, in an effort to find out exactly what’s in them and what could be causing illnesses. The FDA, for example, has issued multiple warnings to companies making inaccurate claims about the contents of products containing CBD, another compound in marijuana. Since the regulatory process for vape oils is “pure chaos right now,” it’s hard to know which chemicals have been added, and even if what’s on the label is accurate, he says. “I would put it on the way in which the THC is prepared and delivered.” ![]() “If I had to bet money on whether or not THC is causing these lung-related issues, I wouldn’t put it on the THC compound itself,” Borodovsky says. To produce vape pen liquid, THC is suspended in an oil solution that often also includes chemicals to alter the flavor or consistency of the mixture, which users then heat and inhale. It’s likely that the processing of THC, rather than the compound itself, is the cause of recent lung issues, says Jacob Borodovsky, an epidemiologist at Washington University School of Medicine in St. cannabis concentrates sales, driven by vaping products, are projected to hit $8.4 billion-only slightly less than sales of marijuana flowers, according to a report from marketing firm Arcview, which focuses on the cannabis industry. Originally scheduled to be released in November 2019 on multiple platforms, it was put on hold indefinitely on October 15, only a month before its announced release, with Larian Studios claiming that the game required "far greater development time and resources than are available now to bring it to fruition". The story would have followed the characters in a world now devoid of Source, safe for the player's party, due to Malady preserving their ship, the Lady Vengeance, from the Source purge the characters would have lead the fight against the Bloodless, an undead-like force decimating Rivellon, while travelling across the Lady Vengeance. It would have featured eight main playable protagonists, including the six pre-made playable characters of Original Sin II, Beast, Fane, Ifan, Lohse, the Red Prince (now named the Red Emperor) and Sebille, as well as Malady, a key non-playable character from the first game. įallen Heroes was to be set two years after the end of the previous game and follow the Original Sin II ending in which the Godwoken purges all Source from Rivellon. Other new gameplay additions would have included parties of six characters (up from Divinity II 's limit of four), guns and gunpowder as weapons, and a new element called Sulfurium two-player cooperative play would have been featured, with both players controlling three characters. Although the game would use the same engine as Original Sin II and also let the player influence the story, it would be considered a spin-off due a focus on battles rather than on exploration, RPG elements and interactions with NPCs, offering a shorter experience with battles alternating between player turn and enemy turn, during which all members of said side get to perform their actions (rather than the individual initiative mechanic featured in Origin Sin II) before switching to the other team's turn. Divinity: Fallen Heroes (cancelled) Ī spin-off sequel to Original Sin II titled, Divinity: Fallen Heroes was announced in March 2019 via a trailer, and would have been co-develloped by Larian Studios and Logic Artists. Dragon Commander was not a very profitable game, according to Vincke. It is a real-time strategy game and it received generally mixed reviews from critics. Dragon Commander is a spin-off title, which expanded the dragon combat featured in Divinity II. Divinity: Original Sin II (2017) įollowing multiple unpleasant experiences with publishers, the team decided to approach venture capitalists directly to fund the game's development. The game received very positive reviews when it was released in 2014, and an Enhanced Edition for the game was published by Focus Home in the following year for consoles. The Kickstarter was successfully funded by 26 April, raising almost $950,000, with donations from other sources bringing the total to over $1,000,000 of the game's final budget of €4 million. A crowdfunding campaign was launched on Kickstarter on 27 March 2013 so that the team would have additional budget to polish the game. According to a studio member, Original Sin was the "do or die" project for Larian. As the studio was working on the game, they wanted to expand its scope, but the studio was slowly running out of money. However, despite the team wanting to expand the game's scope, many of its staff were reassigned to finish Dragon Commander, which was not very profitable for the company. ![]() The team saw the opportunity of making a 3D isometric role-playing game since there were not a lot of these games on the market. Cons: Electrolysis can hurt and has other side effects and risks, including infection, keloid scar formation, hyperpigmentation (darker patches of skin), and/or hypopigmentation (patches of lighter skin).Once treatment is completed, hair will not grow back, so maintenance treatments are not needed. Pros: Electrolysis works to remove all types of hair permanently. Each hair follicle must be treated individually, so it usually takes several treatments to completely destroy a follicle. This burns the hair root, theoretically keeping it from producing more hair. How it works: Electrolysis uses a fine needle inserted into the hair follicle to apply an electrical current to the follicle root.Make sure the wax is cool before applying it to the skin. Tips: Before trying sugaring at home, watch several videos to understand the process.Like waxing, people should avoid sugaring within six months of taking isotrentoin, a medication for cystic acne. Cons: Sugar waxing can be painful and have side effects similar to waxing, including skin irritation, redness, and ingrown hairs.Sugar wax can also be made at home using ingredients you have in your kitchen-sugar, lemon juice or vinegar, and water. It's easy to clean up with warm water, whereas traditional wax tends to be more stubborn. The "wax" is made with real sugar and other nourishing, natural ingredients, so it's water-soluble. Pros: Sugaring offers the same benefits as waxing, but is easier to clean up.Then, a cloth or paper strip is applied atop the wax and pulled off in the opposite direction of hair growth. How it works: A natural, sugary substance with a honey-like consistency is spread on the skin in the direction of hair growth. If you are unable to remove it after a few attempts, try another method. Use a firm hold close to the skin's surface and quickly tug on it. Tips: For pulling individual stray hairs, wait until the hair is long enough to grasp between your fingertips. For some people, pulling out hair can become a compulsive disorder, known as trichotillomania. ![]() It is only recommended for removing single strands of hair. It was often said that becoming a paladin was something that was either within one's nature or not and though an individual could reject the divine call that beckoned them, no one could become a paladin who did not have the necessary conviction. A rare few felt compelled to the paladin's path since their early youth, as though sent into the world with a divine purpose. įew paladins truly "chose" their career and for many becoming a paladin was more like answering a call to destiny, sometimes quite literally from a god or angel. It was from this code that paladins derived their nature as the purist champions of whatever cause they served. ![]() All paladins adhered to a code of conduct of some sort,, though the strictures of their oath often differed significantly from one paladin to another. Paladins who did worship good or lawful gods tended towards the worship of deities such as Azuth, Bahamut, Chauntea or her aspect Yondalla, Helm, Ilmater, Kelemvor, Mystra, Jergal, Lathander, Moradin, Re-Horakhty, Sune, Torm, or Tyr. As a result, most commoners viewed the paladin to be, by default, lawful good, though this was not necessarily true. Lawful or good individuals were more likely to feel the call to serve as a paladin than others, making most paladins lawful good. All paladins, regardless of whom they served and how they acted, were expected to serve as sworn defenders of their beliefs, smiting those who would debase or devalue them. Evil paladins sometimes served as champions of primordials or fiends, committing atrocities like the sacrifice of sapients in exchange for unholy power. Others, however, simply held themselves to a particularly powerful sense of right and wrong, which was in of itself enough to attract the favor of the divine. Precisely how a paladin defined these values differed from one paladin to another and some swore their oath as a form of religious devotion, dedicating themselves to the values of a particular god. The defining characteristic of a paladin was their oath, which most frequently called upon a paladin to battle the forces of evil and to defend justice wherever they could. Throughout the film, however, after Merida rebuilds her bond with her mother (in bear form) while they catch fish to eat at a riverbank and realizes all the trouble she has caused with her reckless actions, she proceeds to make amends, and with her mother's help, creates a diplomatic solution that allows everyone to be happy and for her to have a better understanding of the importance of her mother's role and wisdom while teaching her mother to learn to listen and understand her better. However, Merida also hardly ever understands her mother's feelings about wanting to do what she believed would be best for Merida or properly conveying her feelings and understanding how her desire for freedom and rebelliousness could potentially and negatively affect the kingdom. ![]() She also thinks her mother places too much expectation on her to become the same type of person she is without listening to what she wants to be, which is true since her mother continually and strictly instructed her in how to be a "proper" princess, and arranged for the three clans to present their heirs as potential fiancés for Merida without her consent. She views the strict training and social etiquette that her mother teaches her as tedious and bothersome. Merida is also shown to have developed an interest in archery early on her childhood, possibly by influence from her father.Īs she has grown up, Merida is still very energetic and free-spirited but has a more strained relationship with her mother (though she still holds the same good relationship with her father) and is more rebellious. She also tended to be playful, as shown by her playing hide-and-seek with her mother and being very hyperactive. She showed a curious side as she followed the wisps despite needing to go back to the trail and seemed to believe in the legends and myths of her kingdom, highlighting her innocence and naivety. When Merida was younger, she had a close relationship with both her mother and her father. However, she also does resemble her mother in terms of stubbornness and inability to listen to others. In terms of personality, she greatly parallels and resembles her father, as the two both tend to be unruly, impulsive, and loud. ![]() Merida tends to be ungraceful and has bad manners, and is extremely tomboyish. She also seems to be skilled in sword fighting, as shown in the Brave featurette "Cutting the Class". She is very athletic and enjoys nothing more than riding her horse Angus and practicing her archery, of which she is the best in the kingdom. Rather than being a damsel in distress who is subservient to the customs, traditions, and social restrictions her society places on her and expects her to follow, Merida openly rebels and defies her heritage as a princess and would like for nothing more than to be a normal girl. Merida is a very bold, brave, daring, courageous, stubborn, rebellious, and headstrong girl who does not fit the stereotypical princess role. She loves her family, but she wants to control her own destiny. She spends her days practicing archery, riding her horse Angus, and exploring the world around her. Official Description Merida is a princess by birth and an adventurer by a spirit. Despite her outgoing, forceful, headstrong, and willful personality, Merida does have a playful softness of heart particularly when it comes to her younger triplet brothers, Harris, Hubert, and Hamish. She is also skilled in sword-fighting and racing across the countryside on her horse, Angus. Merida has honed her skill in archery and is one of the most skilled archers ever seen. ![]() Despite Elinor's desire to see Merida as a proper royal lady, Merida is an impetuous girl who wants to take control of her own destiny.
